The 2010 Designer House at Riverside

Welcome to the official website of The 2010 Designer House at Riverside, located at 1012 Riverside Avenue in Elizabeth City. The house, which can be toured from October 10th through the 24th, theme is “The Wonders of Wood and Water.” All proceeds will benefit Arts of the Albemarle.
The first Designer House for the Albemarle area was held in 2008 at Bayside Manor, an antebellum home adjacent to the Elizabeth City U.S. Coast Guard Base and Elizabeth City ’s regional airport. For the more than 2000 people who traveled from all over the country to tour the 2008 house, it was proven that a team of skilled professionals, well-appointed home furnishings and accessories, and tireless efforts can result in a glorious transformation. The 2010 Designer House at Riverside is certain to be no exception.

2010 Designer House at Riverside Volunteer Opportunity

The 2010 Designer House at Riverside Committee is pleased to offer a unique opportunity to volunteer as a docent during the public tours October 10th through October 24th. Each volunteer will be assigned a room in which to welcome visitors to the house, offering information about the room’s designer and the unique furnishings and decorative objects outfitting the room. Shifts will be assigned Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m until 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.; on Sunday from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Training sessions will be provided.
Volunteer with a friend or a group (neighbors, professional colleagues, club members). Special events are scheduled throughout the two-week period. Café service and a gallery boutique will be open on site to enjoy before or after your volunteer shift.
